 Members of the Granby community are invited to design and invent their own Holiday Trading Cards.

 Families with children of all ages are invited to think like a designer and invent their own holiday, describe how it is celebrated, and why it's important. Your holidays will be published in a deck of cards AND a large "calendar" poster featuring all of the holidays!

 Professionally printed cards will be shipped to the library for you to pick up within one month of your submission! You can also check out the full deck of cards and the published calendar poster at your library branch or online on the GIANT website - all completely free of charge.

Families with children of all ages are invited to think like a president and form their own country by designing a flag for their country, sharing their flag's symbolism, describing how their country helps its community, and their country's most important laws. Your country flags will be published in a deck of cards AND a world map featuring all the imaginary countries formed by the community!

Everyone in the community is invited to create and design their own Dream City Cards.

Families with children of all ages are invited to think like a designer and come up with their own city addition, describe who their addition is for, how it makes others feel, and what special features it has that makes them feel that way. Your Dream City cards will be published digitally and 30 selected submissions will be printed and shared with the New York Hall of Science.

You’ll be able to see the deck of 30 printed cards at the New York Hall of Science and the full deck online on the GIANT website - all completely free of charge.

Co-Design Reading Games with Emmy Award Winning Sirius Thinking

Inviting kids in kindergarten and first grade to apply and join us for one FREE session of playtesting and co-designing new games for “Game Changers” -  a library of literacy, education games, and videos based on the Emmy Award-winning PBS television series Between the Lions. This free in-person workshop will take place at The GIANT Room offices in New York City. Participating families will receive a $50 digital amazon gift card as a token of appreciation for your time. 

Who: Kids in grades k-1

Where: The GIANT Room, 25 Broadway, 12th Floor, New York, NY, 10004

When: One of these two dates: Feb 2nd or 3rd, 3:30 to 5:30pm

Why: Participating kids will practice design thinking, reading through play, building prototypes, and sharing their ideas - all while having a great time interacting with designers in the room.
