DESCRIPTION: Bring light and new hopes to celebrate Chinese New Year in a GIANT way! We will make our own lanterns with simple electronics and papers and think about how we can use them to make wishes and share our hopes together for this coming year. We will also learn or practice some Mandarin during the workshop. This workshop is a delightful mix of electronics, construction and literacy.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Hongjin Du is a graduating master’s student of the Instructional Technology and Media program at Teachers College, Columbia University. She is very interested in human learning and focuses her research on kids' collaborative learning experience design. Besides being a huge fan of innovative, technology-based classroom interventions, she is a makerspace enthusiast, a nature lover, a Chinese/English/Japanese speaking chatterbox, and a marathon runner.
