The GIANT Room has partnered with Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop and Explore Learning to co-design the best e-reading experience.
The GIANT Room, an innovation hub for children and their families, is honored to announce a partnership with Explore Learning to co-design engaging e-reading experiences for children! This project is in collaboration with Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop. We are bringing together children, families, researchers, educators, and industry innovators to put children’s voices, ideas, and reading experiences at the center of product development.
Children in 3rd and 4th grade will be invited to join us for three in-person creative co-design workshops focused on co-designing the best e-reading experience. These in-person two-hour workshops will take place on August 18th, 19th, and 20th at the West Side YMCA in New York City. Participating families will receive a $25 gift card per session as an appreciation for their time and participation.
During the sessions, children will engage in hands-on creative activities, share ideas, build prototypes, and provide feedback on what makes e-reading feel engaging, accessible, and motivating. Participants will have the opportunity to collaborate with Explore Learning, Joan Ganz Cooney Center, and The GIANT Room’s researchers, educators, and designers to help shape meaningful digital reading experiences for children.
The GIANT Room believes the most engaging and effective learning experiences are the ones that are designed with children’s points of view in mind, and even better, those that are designed with children involved in the design process. These co-design partnerships not only provide opportunities for children to meet and build ideas with real designers and researchers, but also make it possible to create reading resources that children and families can use to learn, connect, and grow.
