The first youth-centered AI experience of its kind, The GIANT Room’s Remix The Future By & For Youth is a FREE publication and community-building program for public and school libraries across the Northeast.
The program launches: youth co-design a creative community challenge they care about with The GIANT Room. Then, youth are called to action! They can respond to this challenge with their own ideas through a self-directed, easy-to-implement station set up at participating libraries.
The GIANT Room transforms youth ideas submitted at the station into published artifacts like trading cards, comic books, and posters. Libraries receive professionally-printed copies of these one-of-a-kind youth-centered publications to add to their collection.
A brief breakdown of how it works at your library.
-
Join this FREE program! Simply fill out the sign up form to have your library participate. We will be selecting up to 50 libraries to participate. Your library must be located in the Northeast of the United States.
We’ll schedule when the station will be live at your library. The grant timeline goes from September 2026 - March 2027. You can decide the schedule between the dates. Stations usually last 3-4 weeks.
-
Marketing: We’ll share editable marketing materials, like social media posts, flyers and email templates with you. We’ll even share marketing strategies with you about how to increase participation from the youth in your community.
Station Setup: We’ll mail the station materials and setup instructions with you. Setup instructions also include resources to train your staff about how the station works and how to talk about it with families.
-
The self-directed station will live in your library for 3-4 weeks. You’ll have support from The GIANT Room team every step of the way.
-
Youth submit their ideas at the station in the library. They will complete a “Mission Sheet” (A.K.A. a worksheet) to respond to the creative community challenge. Then, library staff takes photos and uploads the submissions to the GIANT Remix app.
-
Your library receive professionally-printed copies of the community publications featuring youth’s ideas. They may be in the form of trading cards, game sets, comic books, posters, or something else.
More about GIANT Remix Programs
GIANT Remix blends storytelling, design, and STEM, helping libraries publish kids’ ideas in real, shareable ways.
From character cards to illustrated books, every project amplifies the imagination of your local youth and strengthens connections across your community.
Youth will co-design their creative community challenges that they care about. Then, libraries will install a Remix Station where youth sketch, write, and build projects. We turn their ideas into trading cards, books, and posters for them to share, and provide archival copies for your library. The result: a memorable program that turns your library into a creative hub where youth feel a sense of belonging.
