Creative STEM on THURSDAYS - Theme: Run a Broadway Show, Pitch a TV Show, & Use your voice for a cause you care about!

DESCRIPTION: For kids who dare to share their stories with the world! Participants will write their own Broadway shows with original stories and songs, design characters, cast for their show, design costumes, build their own stage, design sets, prepare posters, and put on a big show! We’ll have virtual tours of Broadway shows and other prominent global performances, learn everything about the art of performance, and actually create shows that no one has seen before. Participants will also tell their stories through other media by making their own TV series! From character design to animation, story writing, storyboarding, voice over, and production, participants will be learn what it takes to pitch a show to Nickelodeon, Sesame Street or PBS! At the end of the series, we’ll showcase our group or individual shows from live performances to video screenings!

Kids will be picked up at dismissal time. From 3 to 3:30 they will engage in free play/making time while waiting for all of the participants to arrive.

Recommended for ages 6-10

 

We provide complimentary pick up from PS 11, PS 33, PS 41, PS 340, Avenues, and Corlears for those who register for the whole semester.

 

FORMAT: In Person at GIANT Flatiron Hub (26 West 23rd Street, 4th floor)

DATES: Thursdays at 3:00-5:30pm, from Jan. 5th to Mar. 30th (skipping 2/23 for public school holiday)

PRICE: $60 per session when you sign up for the full semester or $68 per individual session
