Farm to Table: Cookies, Ice Cream, and Cupcakes

DESCRIPTION: We’ll take virtual field trips to farms around the world and gather fruits, honey, and sugar to make delicious desserts. We'll then use origami techniques to make ice cream, cookies, and cupcakes using arts and crafts material. We'll share our creations and inspire each other! This workshop is a wonderful blend of science, craft, creativity, and motor skills.

Recommended for ages 4-8

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Azadeh (Azi) Jamalian is the founder of The GIANT Room. She has a PhD in cognitive studies in education from Teachers College Columbia University, masters degree in instructional technology focused on game design, and bachelor of applied sciences in systems engineering. Azi has published journal articles and book chapters on a broad range of topics such as designing learning platforms for children, emerging educational tech, game design, mathematical education, and cognition.

MATERIAL NEEDED: Paper (white and color), Markers, Scissor, Glue or Tape
