Electronics DIY Workshop: Solar Panels

DESCRIPTION: For kids who dare to power up their projects with the energy of the sun!  In this workshop participants become engineers, makers, and artists. They will learn how to turn on lights with solar panels and they will then give a purpose to their circuits - is it a light for someone’s bedroom, a light on a dream car, or lights as eyes for your unicorn? Sky is the limit!

Recommended for ages 5 to 12

LEARN ABOUT

  • Building circuits and learning about sources of power

  • Connecting solar panels in series and parallel to creat higher power

  • Thinking creatively about electronics

TIME: 3:30 to 5pm + complimentary open studio access until 6pm

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS: This workshop will be lead by GIANT founders, Dr. Azi Jamalian. Azi has a PhD in Cognitive Studies in Education from Columbia University and bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering. She loves designing programs and tools for children to learn new things with confidence and joy.
