Lewis Carroll’s whimsically timeless tale, beautifully illustrated by world-renowned pop artist Yayoi Kusama is a book full of inspirations for storytelling, creating art, making, and dreaming. The story centers on a young girl named Alice that falls through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world of anthropomorphic creatures. She has many wondrous, often bizarre adventures with thoroughly illogical and very strange creatures, often changing size unexpectedly.

The version of the book we have chosen for GIANT AR experience is illustrated by Yayoi Kusama.Since childhood, Kusama has been afflicted with a condition that makes her see spots, which means she sees the world in a surreal, almost hallucinogenic way that sits very well with the Wonderland of Alice.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland book has inspired many GIANT to build amazing projects or come up with their own stories about fantastical worlds they could only imagine. We have used Augmented Reality (AR) technology to showcase a number of these projects on top of selected pages of the book.

We invite our community to check out the book, explore kids’ projects through AR experience on their mobile, get inspirations, build their own projects, and send us a photo of their projects.

We’ll add your project to the AR experience and exhibit it at “Create Mode in Progress” exhibition, to be held at The GIANT Room and Southampton Arts Center in Fall.

Curious to know what the AR experience could look like? Simply open this link on your mobile device and place your phone in front of the book cover image on this page and see the 3D penguin appearing in front of your eyes staring at you!
