Participation entails joining one two-hour co-design workshop live on zoom. During the workshop, you'll meet OKO designers and will collaborate with them on designing new features for OKO's math platform - these features include teacher dashboard, student learning reports, and small-group facilitation. Your insights would be incredibly valuable in helping shape the next phase of the product. There will be the option to attend the workshop on Wednesday, November 19th from 4pm-6pm OR Thursday, December 4th from 4pm-6pm.

As a thank-you for your time, you will receive $100 in the form of 2 $50 gift cards!

The GIANT Room believes the most engaging and effective learning experiences are the ones that are designed with teachers’ points of view in mind, and even better, those that are designed with educators involved in the design process. If given the opportunity, teachers design the most magical products and learning experiences that can enlighten thousands of classrooms. This partnership allows educators to have a voice in designing OKO’s app with activities and ideas that are not only engaging, fun, and educational but also easy to implement in classrooms through careful consideration of alignment with core school subjects and standards.

OKO Labs stands at the intersection of academic rigor and social-emotional learning, offering a suite of games and puzzles designed for small groups in upper elementary classrooms. By fostering an environment where students engage in meaningful discussions, solve problems collaboratively, and support each other's learning, OKO thrives to not only achieve meaningful learning gains but also cultivate vital social skills.

Named after Sesame Street’s visionary co-founder, the Joan Ganz Cooney Center is an independent research and innovation lab within Sesame Workshop dedicated to shaping a positive digital future for children. The Center conducts cutting-edge research on emerging technologies, partners with industry leaders, academics, and educators to translate insights into action, and works closely with policymakers and investors to drive meaningful conversations and decisions. By actively involving children and young people in co-designing the tools that they use, the Center ensures that innovations enhance both learning and well-being—ultimately empowering children to thrive in the digital world.

Gates Foundation funds entrepreneurs, companies, and other organizations to create incentives that harness the power of private enterprise to create change for those who need it most.
