You’re Invited to Apply and Join a Co-Design Workshop with a Renowned Sportswear Design Team
The GIANT Room, an innovation hub for youth and their families, is excited to lead a co-design engagement with members of a sportswear company based in the Pacific Northwest. Can you guess who they might be? We’ll welcome a group of designers with expertise in materials, color, sport, and technology to the GIANT studio in New York City to collaborate with youth and co-design a new sport. This unique opportunity invites young people to take part in a shared creative experience alongside visiting designers and explore new ideas together. Youth ages 12 to 16 are invited to apply to join the free co-design session.
During the session, participants will ideate and design a new sport alongside visiting sportswear designers in our GIANT studio. Through hands-on creative challenges, participants will actively create prototypes and exchange perspectives by drawing from their own experiences, identities, and interests. Participating youth will receive $35 as an appreciation of their time. The session will be held on May 7th, 4 to 6pm at The GIANT Room studio at 25 Broadway, 14th floor, New York, NY, 10004.
The GIANT Room believes that young people have perspectives and unique points of view that can greatly impact the design of our world. These co-design partnerships not only provide opportunities for youth to meet and build prototypes with real industry designers, but also make it possible to imagine products and experiences that reflect the identities, cultures, and lived experiences of young people around the world.
This program is completely FREE for families to participate. We are accepting a limited number of youth to participate. Youths aged 12 to 16 are invited to apply and participating youth will receive $35 as an appreciation of their time.
