GIANT CEO Joins the EDSAFE AI Ally Program

Safety is a paramount concern for parents regarding AI and its impact on children, and at The GIANT Room, it is always a top priority. As pioneers in the AI space, we continually monitor the latest policies, regulations, and developments in AI; charting the way in AI education through our innovative GIANT Remix Creative Bootcamps and pilot programs. In recognition of our commitment to AI safety and innovation, our CEO Azi Jamalian has been invited to join the prestigious EDSAFE AI Ally program. This impact-minded program provides a platform for leaders who are dedicated to advancing AI education, offering a year-long initiative that supports these leaders by providing a platform to learn and collaborate on answering questions around AI in education.

EDSAFE is currently led by renowned global experts in the field of AI and InnovateEDU, and The EDSAFE AI Alliance focuses on the SAFE Benchmarks Framework, which serves as a policy roadmap for creating a secure AI ecosystem. Established in 2021, this framework consolidates more than 24 global AI safety, trust, and market frameworks. It plays a crucial role in guiding innovation by providing targeted direction, aligning efforts toward common goals, and establishing guidelines and guardrails. Through collaborative efforts within this framework, EDSAFE aims to achieve equitable outcomes for students and enhance working conditions for teachers.

The EDSAFE AI Alliance has built a robust network comprising partners, subject matter experts, technologists, researchers, and practitioners. The Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA), which consists of over 380 global tech companies and is a member of the EDSAFE AI Alliance Steering Committee, has recently formulated guidelines for the responsible implementation of AI tools in education. These guidelines, known as the "Principles for the Future of AI in Education," prioritize civil rights, inclusion, and educational equity. The development of these guidelines is centered on accountability, with benchmarks being collaboratively defined by a diverse group of stakeholders, including subject matter experts, edtech providers, educators, and learners of all ages. This inclusive approach ensures that the standards not only foster accountability but also integrate relevant policies and regulations.

The GIANT Room is continually forging a path towards digital media literacy for kids and families. Stay tuned for more news about the AI Literacy guides we are creating for both teachers and families!
