Celebrating holidays in a GIANT way!

Holiday spirit is in the air and we’re so excited to share with you some fun ideas to celebrate this holiday season with your friends and family! You don’t need any special materials to engage in these activities - all you need is an open heart with a dash of creativity.

Let the countdown begin:

5- Give gifts that cost you nothing but worth a million

Here is how to play: each participant grabs three pieces of paper and on each piece of paper writes a “gift” that has no monetary value but it’s something special they can do, teach, show, etc! Each gift should be numbered, 1, 2, and 3. You will then take turns, closing your eyes, spin around the room, and point to someone. Open your eyes and ask the person you’re pointing to read what they wrote on the paper with your choice number! That gift will be yours! Confused? Ok, person A, closes her eyes, spin and points to person B and then asks person B to read his #2 gift. Person B reads the gift idea he wrote on his pager #2. You go around until everyone has at least 1 gift and those who have to gift more than 1 thing, can also choose more than one gift! Here are the gift ideas GIANT team shared during our online holiday party:

  • Teaching you a recipe to make a delicious creamy dill salmon dip

  • Helping you design your own website

  • Teaching you Spanish

  • Drawing a cute cat poster

  • Doing personal online shopping for an important occasion

  • Drawing a sketch portrait

  • Writing you a poem

  • Sending you affirmation words

  • Teaching you Chinese with all the bad words!

  • Writing a comic strip

  • Doing one week of chore thinking for you!

Now it’s your turn! What special talent you have that makes it a memorable gift for someone? Stand-up comedy? Magic show? Singing and playing piano? Creative a song list for a special occasion? YOU NAME IT!

4- Design a game that makes you connect and bond

Here is how to design your game:

  1. Choose a game mechanic everyone needs to incorporate in their game. Games of chance? Guessing games? Memory games? Knowledge/IQ games? Strategy games? Talent games? Conversation games?

  2. Once you choose a game mechanic, give yourselves 10 minute to design your game. Participants can design on their own or in teams!

  3. All participants come together and you “playtest” all games designed

  4. BONUS: You can vote whose game was the funnies, most challenging, relaxing, creative, memorable, or …

3- Share your gratitudes!

2- Make something out of paper and add it to your tree, gift it to someone special, or …

Here is how to do it: Grab a piece of paper and think of 20 things you can make with it. Then, choose your top 3 creative, fun, special, or wacky ideas and start making.

Here are some ideas:

  • Fold your paper into a heart origami, write a special message for someone inside and gift it to them.

  • Fold your paper into a holiday card. Add a special design, write a personal message inside, and give it to someone! Bonus? Make it a pop up card or a light-up one!

  • Turn it into a comic strip about your family and add it to your Christmas tree!

1- Let others treat you!

Here is how to do it: Each participant gets 3 pieces of paper. On each of them write down your name and a wish that has no monetary value but is special to you and makes you feel good. Add all wishes in a hat, and take turns in picking a wish you’d be in charge of making it come true!

Not sure what to ask? Maybe you’d really appreciate it if someone cooks you your favorite meal, gives you a massage, reads you your favorite book, plays with you your favorite game, cleans your room, or…
